FutureCOL works with the Tertiary Education Commission who have numerous levels of funding that can be provided to schools. There is the Youth Guarantee initiative, as well as the Student Achievement Component funding. Not all courses are funded by TEC, therefore, only some of the courses are ‘Zero Fees’ thanks to TEC.

Primary Industries is a new qualification that is approved by NZQA.
The course itself gives you insight into the primary industries in your region (horticulture, agriculture, fisheries, meatworks). It shows you the diverse range of employment opportunities available within the primary industries. There are so many different roles within the primary industries that not everyone thinks about. Ranging from administrators through to CEO’s and manual labouring, this course will open your eyes to the world of opportunity that is at your back door.

FutureCOL takes pride in having a low student to tutor ratio, which means that our students get more one-on-one time with tutor.
FutureCOL on the whole has different numbers of students throughout the year. This means when you start your course is when your course duration starts. You may start your course in February, and someone else may start the same course in April, so you will both have different completion dates.
Because of the multiple intakes throughout the year, student numbers go up and down all the time. On average, we have 150 students over all our campus locations.

In most situations, you will be able to get loans for the fee based courses with FutureCOL. If you have undertaken other studies in the past, and you have completed these courses, you should be able to get student allowances if your personal details deem you as eligible.

This depends on what course you are doing. Most classes are from 9am-3pm, however, you will need to confirm your course timetable with your tutor.

Step 2: Organise a time to come for assessment and interview process. You will need to bring with you a bank statement, or verification of your bank number (this can be obtained from your bank if you do not have a statement). You will also need to bring your original birth certificate or passport for identification purposes.
Step 3: Within a week after the interview, you should hear from our friendly team members advising you of your application‘s outcome. The outcome will depend on course availability, and the information received during your application.
