FutureCOL has Classrooms, a Student Lounge, Kitchen and Computer Lab. The FutureCOL student lounge is equipped with microwave ovens, vending machine, hot and cold water. There is also a seating area where students can consume their food while they catch up with their friends. There is a Ping-Pong table, a pool table and chess board for students to use during their free time. There is an outdoor courtyard ideal for student breaks during summer or sunny winter days. You will find students having a quick game of Volleyball in the car park. There is free WiFi access to all students on campus.
We also take you out for fun activities such as Bowling or Wall Climbing along with rest of the students from different faculties, which gives you a chance to meet and mingle with our International Students.
Accommodation for Prospective Students
In case if you are finding difficulties with accommodation, we are more than happy to assist you with finding the right abode.
While public transport is available, students find most things in Hastings are within easy walking or cycling distance. Many students opt for the healthier option of cycling to college or work. Bus passes are also issued to students on request.

Settlement Support is a network of people based in local communities who are available to assist migrants settle in NZ. They provide information, workshops and help with getting settled.
Studying while on a benefit
If you or your partner are receiving a benefit and decide to study, you need to talk to Work And Income about how it might affect your benefit and how it can help you towards your work goals.
Our full-time programmes are all NZQA approved which means that you may receive a student allowance if you meet the criteria. Student allowance is a weekly payment for your living expenses and it is similar to the living costs but you don’t have to pay it back.
A Student Loan helps to pay for your course fees (the compulsory fees charged by your education provider), study materials (eg, books, computer, travel) and living costs.
